Strada del Tartufo e della Castagna - Valle del Turano

Accessibility statement

We want this website, www.tartufoecastagna.it, to be accessible to as many users as possible. In order to do this, during the planning process we considered the issue of making all content accessible to people with visual impairments or with motor disabilities, which make navigation difficult or impossible.

To this end, the site has been built in accordance with guidelines laid down by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), the independent organisation which establishes standards for the sharing of information by those publishing on the web. The branch of the W3C that deals with the issues of accessibility, the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative), has also drawn up guidelines to incentivise and improve the accessibility of web content (WCAG – Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). The primary objective of these guidelines is to promote accessibility.

By following these, we have striven to make our web content usable for all, independently of the particular method they are using to access the web (for example normal browsers, screen readers etc) or of any environmental factors (e.g. noisy environments, badly lit or brightly lit rooms, environments in which the user needs to keep their hands free, etc). Conforming to these guidelines allows users to access information on the website as quickly as possible. The guidelines do not suggest web developers avoid images or video etc, but simply suggest how to render this multimedia content accessible to a wider public. The current version of the WCAG guidelines is 1.0.

The guidelines are prioritised from 1 to 3; conforming to the guidelines for each priority is cumulative (to conform to priority 2, you must first conform to priority 1) and assigns the level of accessibility, indicated by the letter A.

“A” = conforms to the 1st priority guidelines
“AA” = conforms to the 1st and 2nd priority guidelines
“AAA” = conforms to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd priority guidelines

The current level of accessibility for www.tartufoecastagna.it is level 2.

There is still a lot left to do, but we are confident that over time we can continue working and take the portal to the highest level of accessibility.

This page will be updated from time to time as new initiatives are implemented to improve the accessibility.

Validation

We have used XHTML 1.0 and CSS that conforms to specification, as laid out by the W3C because we believe that usability and accessibility must have a solid foundation. If anything on this web site does not validate correctly, please contact the Site Administration. We have also endeavoured to achieve AA accessibility as measured against version 1.0 of the WCAG. We are aware however, that a number of the checkpoints of the WCAG are subjective — and although we are sure that we have met them squarely, there may be instances where interpretation may vary.
